Optimist Junior Golf 2010 Our District Junior Golf Qualifying Tournament for 2010
will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Caledon Country Club, Inglewood, Ontario. Deadline for submission of paid registrations for the
District Tournament will be June 14, 2010. Please schedule your local club
tournament to be held by June 13th. The cost for registration is $75.00
per golfer which includes greens fees, lunch and prizes. The first tee time
will be 8:00am. The age groups are 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 years.
In an effort to increase the level of participation in the youngest age
division, the International Committee will allow golfers who are nine years
old to "play up" into the 10-11 division in 2010. A golfer
who is younger than 10 (but not younger than nine), as of July 26, 2010, may
register and play in an official Optimist District tournament to attempt to
advance to the international championships. The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships will
be held at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The
dates for the International tournament are July 22-27 for 9-15 year olds, and
July 27-August 1, 2010 for 16-18 year olds. It is our objective to send two finalists from our
District Tournament to Florida. To meet this objective, we require your
financial support. Each club that donates $200 or more to the District
Tournament will receive an exclusive Hole Sponsorship at the District
Tourney. The name of your club will be prominently displayed at the tees. Cheques should be made
